Improving Transit – Another Chance to Weigh In

Milwaukee, WI – Milwaukee County and MCTS are continuing to gather public input on the planned nine-mile, regional, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route. The route will connect thousands of riders every day to major employment, education and recreation destinations through downtown Milwaukee, Milwaukee’s Near West Side, Marquette University, Wauwatosa and the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center.

The project is expected to spark economic development across the corridor and reduce congestion for riders and drivers through the area.

The public is being asked to give feedback on the location of the proposed dedicated lanes as well as the locations and design of the planned stations.

Gee, I don’t think the Mitchell St. library is close to Wisconsin Ave./Bluemound Rd??
Why would the County Exec have a BRT meeting so far away from the area where the bus line would operate?
Maybe because the previous meetings (along the route) brought out the negative responses the area residents had to this ridiculous idea.
Take the current Gold Line route down Wisconsin Ave., reduce the number of stops, more frequent bus times and you have a BRT, without spending all this money on special bus route equipment (tickets, etc.) and bus shelters
Waste of money, but maybe the newly purchased supervisors won’t have a problem with these expenditures…
How about trying this along North Ave. or Nat’l / Greenfield Aves!
