Pancakes & Poetry, Art Walk and youth talent event to close out Bronzeville Week

There are just two final days to enjoy Bronzeville Week 2016, but the remaining events offer fun as well as enrichment for the mind, body and soul.
Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs invites the public to see what the event’s final two days have in store. “Bronzeville Week offers positive and family-friendly events, and it just keeps getting better,” she said. “I encourage everyone to come get a taste of Bronzeville before we close the curtain for this year on Saturday.”
A look at the schedule today through tomorrow – Saturday, August 13:
Bronzeville Fire: Our Young and Talented — a youth talent showcase featuring dancing, poetry, and singing — takes place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. TONIGHT (Friday, August 12) at 2200 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.
At 10 a.m. Saturday, it is time to saddle up on a bicycle for the Bronzeville Ride, with participants gathering at the ride’s starting point in front of the Reader’s Choice Book Store, 1950 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr.
The final event of Bronzeville Week 2016 will be the Bronzeville Art Walk, which gets underway at 4 p.m. Saturday on N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. between W. North Ave. and W. Garfield Ave.
Artists and participants for tomorrow’s Bronzeville Art Walk include: Jazale’s Art Studio and Collective, Ayzha Fine Arts, Willie Weaver, Bennie Higgins, Kevin Boatright, Ken Brown, Michael Kochanski, Will Muhammad, and more.
The Art Walk will feature vendors and art displays – including original artwork for sale – until 8 p.m.
