Edgar Lin: “Economics is About People”
Lin pledges to use his experience and degree in Economics to implement common sense strategies to provide residents of the 16th Assembly District more access to resources
MILWAUKEE – Today, Edgar Lin, candidate for the 16th Assembly District, announced his plan to tackle the devastating effects of a gutted working class and hopes his knowledge in economics will bring more resources, jobs, and livable wages to residents in all neighborhoods:
“Most people will tell you that economics is about money. But in reality, economics is about people and maximizing everyone’s potential. People are the engines that drive the economy. And who are the guardians of living wages and working conditions for people? Labor unions. We all understand the impact that Gov. Walker and the Republicans have had in recent years with attacks on labor combined with stagnant business growth and low wages.
“The hardworking people of the 16th Assembly District are struggling under the current economic challenges in our city and state with no protection or safety net. I’ve worked as a financial analyst. Having no wage growth and a shrinking working class deeply troubles me, and I want to go to the capitol to change that.
“I will work hard with colleagues in the capitol to champion for a living wage. Studies have shown that reduction of hiring is far less than expected. Companies respond by becoming more efficient, and the net gain is tremendous.
“I’m ready to leverage my economics experience to help restore the devastating effects of the Walker Administration and Republican allies. I’m confident the momentum for change is here and history will be on our side. My experience has taught me that when you gut the working class and take away the fundamental rights of unions, that we all suffer and feel those impacts. But it’s not too late to turn things around, a rising tide lifts all boats.”

Your economics degree can solve nothing! 16th district needs a bit more than an empty promise of checkbook balance. Does this guy even know what range of issues plagues district 16? I think he only asked his light skinned friends on the east side of the district…
And what exactly has Leon Young done in the last 20 years other than collect a paycheck?
Leon Young is a joke and should retire with an apology letter for the past 24 years. There are other candidates who better represent district 16.
This guy is the only one that has any sort of presence. One of the other challengers has no presence and then there is the other guy who I haven’t heard anything about but at least he has a decent website but I think this would be his first job after college.
Lin is a candidate for a minority within the district and nobody West of Holton. Presence? His money buys it. He is a suggested candidate that’s been prepped for this. And he will NOT represent the majority of the district – African Americans.
