Jazz in the Park celebrates 25th anniversary with eclectic music lineup

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (March 14, 2016) – Jazz in the Park, presented by Columbia St. Mary’s and Madison Medical, is returning for its 25th season, offering a full range of soulful music for free evening entertainment all summer long. Beginning June 2 through Sept. 1, the outdoor concert series takes place every Thursday evening in Cathedral Square Park from 6 to 9 p.m.
This year’s schedule will feature a diverse variety of music styles, including jazz, big band, funk, R&B, reggae, blues and Latin. Milwaukee Soul, a local band with an unstoppable force of harmony, will kick off Jazz in the Park on June 2. Based out of Minneapolis, Sonny Knight & The Lakers will excite crowds onto their feet with their one-of-a-kind rhythm and blues tunes on June 9. Blair Crimmins & The Hookers will mix together ragtime and 1920s-style Dixieland jazz for an unforgettable performance on July 21. Combining sultry vocals and eloquent songwriting, Leftover Cuties will perform timeless jazz melodies on July 28. Milwaukee favorite, Paul Cebar Tomorrow Sound will take the stage on Aug. 25 with soulful sounds and feel-good lyrics.

Jazz in the Park
Established in 1991, Jazz in the Park remains a popular hotspot for music lovers to celebrate during the warm summer months. The free event attracts over 8,000 attendees each week and offers food and beverage options from local vendors.
