Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon and Iconic Downtown Storm the Bastille 5K Join Forces to Amplify Community Impact
MILWAUKEE, WI — Two of Milwaukee’s most celebrated running traditions are breaking new ground by running together. Today, organizers of the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon and the Storm the Bastille 5K announced an official partnership for the 2026 race season. This historic team-up aims to amplify the vital messaging of local non-profits and demonstrate the power of community organizations supporting one another.
Rather than competing for the spotlight, these historic events are pooling resources, cross-promoting their missions, and sharing platforms. The collaboration sets a powerful example of how community-focused organizations can lift each other up to achieve greater social impact.
“We are stronger when we run together,” said Scott Stauske, Race Director of the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon. “The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon has always been about community grit and achievement. By partnering with Storm the Bastille, we are proving that collaboration beats competition. Together, we can elevate the incredible work of the non-profits that keep Milwaukee moving forward.”
The partnership will feature joint marketing campaigns, co-branded community outreach, and integrated volunteer networks. Both events will use their platforms to drive awareness and fundraising for their respective non-profit beneficiaries, maximizing the financial and social return for the local community.
“This is a natural win for Milwaukee,” said Tammy Bockhorst, representing Storm the Bastille and the East Town Association’s non-profit community initiatives. “Both of our events draw thousands of passionate people to our streets. By aligning our voices, we can shine a much brighter light on the local organizations providing critical services in our neighborhoods. When non-profits collaborate, the entire city wins.”
Runners, volunteers, and community supporters can expect to see joint activations starting immediately. Detailed information on registration opportunities, collaborative race-week events, and highlighted non-profit stories will be released throughout the summer.
