ThirdCoast Digest is partnering with docUWM, the UWM Peck School of the Arts and the Pabst Group to bring you all-new videos from Cream City Soundcheck. Cream City Soundcheck, filmed and produced by docUWM, features live footage of bands both local and national, filmed at Milwaukee’s many gorgeous venues. The videos also take you behind-the-scenes with each band while they talk music, visit some of the city’s iconic locations, and much more.

On September 13 (mark your calendars now) TCD, docUWM, Peck School of the Arts and the Pabst Group will host a Cream City Soundcheck launch party at Turner Hall Ballroom.  With a live lineup to be announced, the evening also features screenings of videos with Maritime, YACHT, Paul Cebar, I’m Not A Pilot, Mortgage Freeman, Holy Shit!, and Kings Go Forth.

The launch party is September 13 (mark your calendar), but for today, TCD is debuting a brand new episode featuring Milwaukee’s Kings Go Forth.

Kings Go Forth have been cranking out their brand of classic grooved-out soul since their inception in 2009. After a handful of singles and numerous memorable live shows, the ten-piece band released their debut full length, The Outsiders are Back, on David Byrne’s Luaka Bop label in 2010.

This episode features the band’s most recent Turner Hall Ballroom performance, and goes behind the scenes with group founder/bassist Andy Noble and percussionist Cecelio Negron Jr.

Previous episodes of Cream City Soundcheck have featured hometown favorites Trapper Schoepp & The Shades, and Park The Van Records artists Generationals, and can be found at creamcitysoundcheck.com.

Follow Cream City Soundcheck on Facebook and Twitter for more information as we move closer to the event.
