Walker’s Point Senior Housing Development Project Renderings
As we reported yesterday, Mercy Housing Lakefront’s planning a senior-housing apartment building to be located at the Southeast corner of 1st St. and Pittsburgh Ave. in Walker’s Point. At press time these additional renderings, by Korb Tredo Architects, weren’t available for publication.

We have to get a grocery and a Wallgreens down there soon.
In fact, I thought the lot would have been good for a Walgreens. I hope they get rid of the turn lane, which eats up an incredible amount of real estate there.
@Michael Yes the area needs a Walgreens or better yet a grocery store now… I agree it should be gone but as far as the turn lane no it’s stuck something about being a “truck” route.
I disagree – we dont need another walgreens in the city.
I also agree with the Walgreens idea.. Besides the Wisconsin Ave. location, which isn’t the easiest to get in and out of because of the parking restrictions, the closest is 15th & Burnham or Brady Street. Those of which are far and in between. I believe residents and businesses located in Walker’s Point, 3rd Ward, 5th Ward and Downtown would benefit from Walgreens, not to mention the busyness of the intersection. The idea of Walgreens makes plenty sense to me and would help build the connection of the 3rd Ward to Walker’s Point and Walker’s Point to Bay View! I’m SOLD!
