7th Annual WMSE Backyard BBQ Lineup Announcement and New Location!

This year’s lineup is incredible.

By - Aug 17th, 2016 01:24 pm

On Saturday, Sept. 10, WMSE will host its seventh annual Backyard BBQ, an incredible day of music and fun at our new location: the Humboldt Park Band Shell. It’s the station’s small thank-you to its listeners and members for their continued support.

This year’s lineup is incredible. The day kicks off with local country favorites Doghouse Flowers, next it’s gypsy calypso, high energy Midwest Death Rattle followed by hometown hero Trapper Schoepp. Then national favorite Balkun Brothers (think early Black Keys) take the stage. Closing out the night are the seriously loved and incredible showmen who will make you get up and shake your tail, Sonny Knight and The Lakers.

“This year we’ve moved to a bigger park so it means an even bigger show. With our very eclectic and extremely knowledgeable listeners, we try to find something for everyone. It’s not always an easy task, but like years past, I believe we’ve nailed it!” declared WMSE GM Tom Crawford.

All the fun takes place Saturday, Sept. 10 from Noon to 8 p.m. in the station’s even bigger backyard—Humboldt Park, right in the heart of Bay View at 3000 S. Howell Ave.

Local restaurants will be on hand to keep you well fed and one of our sponsors, MKE Brewing, will be on tap. We’d like to thank Woodman’s Markets and Bel Air Cantina for making this event possible.

Listener support of WMSE means it can continue to bring the best in music programming, like Dewey Gill’s Big Band on Saturday Mornings, The Blues Drive, Orgullo Latino, Local/ Live or indie rock shows. Tune into Milwaukee’s Frontier Radio – 91.7FM WMSE – broadcasting live from Milwaukee School of Engineering every day.
