WMLW, The M to Just a Bit Outside: The Story of the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers

SEPTEMBER 3, 2025 MILWAUKEE As the Milwaukee Brewers continue their groundbreaking season, WMLW, The M looks back at the team that won the hearts of the city in Just a Bit Outside: The Story of the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers. The documentary airs Wednesday, September 10th, at 6:30 P.M. and Wednesday, September 24th at 11:00 P.M. The M is seen on channel 49.

According to interviews with players, coaches and team insiders in Just a Bit Outside, 1982 Milwaukee was “a town that needed a team, and a team that needed a town.” In the grip of a recession, the franchise captured the city’s hopes, becoming a symbol of greatness when it was needed most. During their 13th season in 1982, the Brewers finished with the best record in the MLB (95–67) and won their first and only American League pennant, even though they would fall to the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series in seven games.

Beloved players like Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, and Pete Vuckovich, along with the late legendary announcer Bob Uecker and Hall of Fame owner and former MLB Commissioner Bud Selig, share their personal stories and memories from that unforgettable team and era.

Viewers can watch WMLW over-the-air on channels 49.1/58.3, Spectrum channels 7/8/608/982/1007, DIRECTV channel 49, Dish Network channel 49, and AT&T U-Verse channels 7/1007, TDS channel 7 and Packerland channels 22 and 2.1.
