WLAX Hosts UConn Saturday for Senior Day at Valley Fields

Golden Eagles and Huskies first draw is at noon CT

The Marquette University women’s lacrosse team (8-5, 2-2 BIG EAST) hosts UConn on Saturday, April 12 at noon CT for Senior Day at Valley Fields. The game will be broadcast on FloCollege with Matt Menzl (play-by-play) and Eric Simon (analyst) on the call.

Marquette and UConn are meeting for the 13th time on Sunday, with the Huskies leading the series, 10-2. Both wins for MU have come at Valley Fields.

The Golden Eagles will honor eight student-athletes for Senior Day before the game: Meg BireleyBrynna NixonHanna BodnerLily DietrichCampbell BrownLorelai VanGuilderAva Sprinkel and Devon Ortman.

Following Saturday’s game, Marquette travels to Georgetown for its final BIG EAST regular season game on Saturday, April 19 at 11 a.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on FS1.

BIRELEY AMONG NCAA LEADERS ON OFFENSE
• Meg Bireley is first in the BIG EAST and fourth in the nation with 51 goals on the season.
• The senior attacker is first in the conference and sixth nationally averaging over a hat trick per game at 4.25 goals per outing.
• Bireley is first in the nation at 10.75 shots per game.

GOLDEN EAGLES OFFENSE SOARING
• Marquette is third in the BIG EAST and 33rd in the nation at 13.54 goals per game.
• The Golden Eagles are 17th in the nation in shots per game (32.77), 35th in points per game (19.85) and 37th in assists per game (6.31).

BIRELEY CLOSING IN ON 200 CAREER GOALS, 250 CAREER POINTS
• Senior attacker Meg Bireley 197 career goals and 247 career points in 67 career games with 49 starts for the Golden Eagles.
• Bireley would be the 11th active player to hit 250 points for their career and fourth active player to hit 200 career goals.

OSBURN THREE AWAY FROM 100 CAREER GOALS
• Junior attacker Tess Osburn is three goals away from becoming the ninth player in program history to have 100 goals in their career at Marquette.
