Golden Eagles host Niagara Friday night at Valley Fields
The Marquette University women’s lacrosse team dropped it first game of the season on Sunday at No. 8 Michigan, 22-5.
Bodner scored the first goal of the afternoon on a free position shot 90 seconds in before the Wolverines scored the next five goals unanswered. Lauren Grady ended the run with a goal at 1:35 left in the first.
Meg Bireley scored two goals in the fourth quarter for her fourth hat trick of the season.
No. 8 Michigan (3-1, 0-0 Big Ten) was led by Kaylee Dyer, who had three goals and four assists.
NOTABLES:
- Meg Bireley moved into third by herself on the all-time goals list with 178 career goals. She passed Lydia Foust (2019-23) who scored 175 career goals.
- Bireley moved into third by herself on the all-time shots list with 383 career shots. She passed Shea Garcia (2019-23) who had 371 career shots.
