Wisconsin State Senate Sends Middle-Class Tax Cut to Governor Evers’ Desk
"Middle-class Wisconsinites deserve a tax break, and today the Legislature voted to give them one."
[Madison, WI] — Today the Wisconsin State Senate passed a middle-class tax cut, sending it to Governor Evers’ desk. Following the vote, Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald released the following statement urging the governor to sign the tax cut into law:
“Middle-class Wisconsinites deserve a tax break, and today the Legislature voted to give them one. With our state budget running a surplus we can afford to return money to hard-working Wisconsin families. Sadly, Democrats in the Legislature have decided that the only plan they can support is one that would increase the tax burden on Wisconsin businesses – hurting our state’s manufacturers and agricultural producers in the process.
“Let’s put people over politics and give families a tax break they deserve. I urge Governor Evers to sign this bill.”
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) represents the 13th Senate District, which covers portions of Dodge, Jefferson, Waukesha, Washington, Dane, and Columbia counties.
