Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers Endorses Israel Ramón for Register of Deeds
Gov. Evers acknowledges progress made, more progressive reforms on the way
MILWAUKEE – Israel Ramón, Milwaukee County Register of Deeds, today announced the support of Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers in his campaign to retain his office as Register of Deeds. He is running for election in the August 11, 2020 Primary.
Evers stated, “When I appointed Israel to the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds, I considered the reality of what the office was facing — a troubling history of mismanagement. He leads with integrity and knowledge and has made outstanding progress and instituted progressive reforms. Israel is the type of leader we all love to see in office, and I hope you’ll join me in supporting him.”
Ramón stated, “I’m beyond fortunate to have earned the trust and support of Governor Evers. When I agreed to take over this troubled office, I made a promise to him that I would do everything in my ability to make the people of Milwaukee County proud. Since taking office, I’ve saved Milwaukee County taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars through progressive reforms with more on the way. I’m honored to have his support in my bid to serve the people for a full term and I look forward to working with the governor to continue our collective progressive vision.”
Ramón is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, a Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation, the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association, the Wisconsin Register of Deeds Association (Legislative Committee), the Property Records Industry Association (Best Practices Committee), the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, the ACLU of Wisconsin, Citizens Action of Wisconsin and Voces de la Frontera.
