Wisconsin Democrats Renew Call for Removal of Bob Spindell

By - Dec 6th, 2023 02:15 pm

MADISON, Wis. — In light of today’s admission by Wisconsin’s 10 fake Republican electors that their actions contributed to an improper attempt to overturn the 2020 election, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler issued the following statement:

“No matter your party or who you voted for, honoring the outcome of a free and fair election is core to American democracy. As these 10 fake electors now admit, their actions violated this bedrock principle of our democracy in an attempt to overturn an election that Donald Trump plainly lost. It is now time for the next step in accountability: Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu must remove Robert Spindell from the Wisconsin Elections Commission. Leader LeMahieu must make clear that there is no place in our system of election administration for an individual who now admits to conspiring to overturn an election.

“Aided and abetted by Spindell and his fellow fake electors, Donald Trump’s plot to overturn the 2020 election very nearly succeeded in Wisconsin. It is critical we recommit ourselves to ensuring Donald Trump never again wields the power he so flagrantly abused in an effort to undermine our democracy.”
