Wisconsin Bike Fed Hosts World’s Largest Winter Holiday Themed Costume Bike Ride for Charity December 3rd
MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Bike Fed joyously announces event details and registration information for its 22nd annual Milwaukee Santa Cycle Rampage on Saturday, December 3, 2022.
“Welcome to the World’s Largest Winter Holiday Themed Costume Bike Ride for Charity!” shares Wisconsin Bike Fed Assistant Director Jake Newborn. “We expect over 1500 Santas, Elves, Reindeer, Ralphies, Grinch, and more to celebrate the joy of cycling year round!”
The popular event is a slow roll style, police-escorted, looped route with two ride start options that both end at the Wisconsin Bike Fed office (187 E Becher St, Milwaukee):
- Riders can jingle all the way through the full loop that starts and ends at the Bike Fed – approximately 12 miles.
- Riders can eat, drink, and await the arrival of full route Rampagers, then join in the ride at Hollander Grand Cafe on Downer Ave with OnMilwaukee (2608 N Downer Ave, Milwaukee) and ride the second half – approximately 6 miles.
Please note that the Ride Route is subject to change prior to December 3rd due to conditions or construction issues.
While there will be fire pits at the start and end of the route, riders are encouraged to dress warmly, and not only as Santa but any of their favorite holiday characters! Warm drinks and snacks will be available for purchase at the Wheel and Sprocket in Bay View where the full route ride begins and ends.

About the Wisconsin Bike Fed
The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin Educational Foundation, Inc. (AKA Wisconsin Bike Fed) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that cultivates, motivates, and unites residents, communities, businesses, and political leaders to move bicycling forward in Wisconsin through education, legislation, and involvement. The Wisconsin Bike Fed is the only statewide organization that advocates for better bicycling for everyone who rides a bike in Wisconsin, with thousands of individuals, families, organizations, and communities who support our work to:
- Advocate for cycling, including having the governor prioritize transportation access and environmental concerns in the 2021-23 biennial budget, and previously having bike shops deemed essential businesses during the pandemic.
- Provide programs to make bicycling safer and more accessible across the state, particularly in the state’s most populous urban communities of Milwaukee and Madison.
- Promote Wisconsin as an economic engine for cycling, highlighting scenic trails and emphasizing the many large and small businesses that support bicycling as direct producers, repairers or vendors of bikes and related accessories, as well as the hospitality industry that benefits from cycling. According to the most recent impact study released by the governor’s office in 2020, consumers spent $1.42 billion in 2017 on direct bicycle-related expenditures, bringing funds into our businesses and state budget
