WBB Travels to Georgetown Saturday Night
Golden Eagles first road trip to D.C. since December 2022
The Marquette University women’s basketball team travels to Georgetown on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. CT. The BIG EAST Digital Network on FloCollege features the broadcast with Jeremy Huber (pxp) and Monika Moore (analyst) on the call.
ALL-TIME SERIES AGAINST GEORGETOWN
• Marquette and Georgetown are meeting for the 33rd time on Saturday night.
• Marquette leads the all-time series, 28-4, and are 11-3 against the Hoyas in D.C.
• The Golden Eagles have won the last 14 meetings, the third-longest win streak over a BIG EAST opponent. MU has won the last 16 meetings over Providence and last 17 over Xavier.
FIRST MEETING THIS SEASON
• Marquette beat Georgetown 75-58 on Saturday, Jan. 25.
• Lee Volker led MU with 20 points, six assists and four rebounds.
• Halle Vice (19 points, eight rebounds) and Skylar Forbes (18 points, five rebounds and four blocks) joined Volker in double-figures.
• Marquette had 21 assists on 27 made baskets.
• Lee Volker (six) Kennedi Perkins (five) and Skylar Forbes (four) all had career-highs in assists.
DEFENSE DOMINATES IN WIN OVER PROVIDENCE
• Marquette held Providence to five points and 16.7 percent shooting from the floor in the win over the Friars on Wednesday night. Both were season-lows for an opponent in the third quarter.
• It was the second time this season MU held a BIG EAST opponent to 51-points-or-under. Xavier scored 38 points on Jan. 29, 2025.
BENCH PRODUCTION KEY VS THE FRIARS
• Marquette had 22 bench points on Wednesday night vs. Providence, the most bench points in a BIG EAST game this season.
• Bridget Utberg tied her Marquette career-high with eight points.
