Warm Your Heart Chili & Jewelry Sale

Warm Your Heart Chili & Jewelry Sale

St. Ann Center is the hot spot for chili and shopping this weekend during the Warm Your Heart Chili and Jewelry Sale, on Saturday, Nov. 23, at the center’s Stein Campus, 2801 E. Morgan Ave. Open 9 a.m.-1 p.m., this special fundraiser will feature chili from more than 20 popular Milwaukee restaurants, a dazzling collection of jewelry and a market filled with gifts and produce.

Chili choices range from mild, spicy and five-alarm to black bean, chicken and vegetarian, served with all the fixings. Chili will be sold in flights, so you can sample several types, or you can warm up with a bowl of your favorite. Also available: delicious, homemade fry bread that goes great with chili or makes a great dessert sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.

Restock your jewelry box without breaking your budget—this spectacular sale features hundreds of pieces of vintage, retro and heirloom jewelry—from rings, necklaces and bracelets to pins, earrings and watches. The bargain prices are possible because the jewelry comes from donations to the center that our volunteers clean, repair and price.  Pieces that aren’t wearable — such as single earrings or pins with missing stones — are sold in bulk to local artists and crafters.

Jewelry fans will also find tasteful creations designed and handcrafted by Sr. Edna Lonergan, St. Ann Center founder and president. Sr. Edna began making jewelry years ago as a pastime and a way to supplement funding for the children, elderly and adults with disabilities served by St. Ann Center.

The center’s spacious atrium will be filled with vendors offering locally grown produce, natural soaps and lotions, handcrafts, home decor, confections, themed gift baskets and more. There’ll be live music by the Nonprofits from 10 a.m. to noon. And free chair massages will help you relax.

Restaurants donating chili include both neighborhood and citywide favorites — Amaranth Bakery & Cafe, Amelia’s, The Backyard, Bartolotta Catering, Beans & Barley, Beerline Cafe, The Copper Kitchen, Cudahy Burger Joint, Dale’s of Milwaukee, Fuel Café in Walker’s Point, Hector’s, McBob’s Pub & Grill, Miss Katie’s Diner, Motor Café Bar & Restaurant,  PalominoHoneypie CaféSmallPie, The Saucy Swine at Redbar, Scotty’s Bar & Pizza, The Soup Market-Bay View, The Soup Otzie’s and Triskele’s.

All proceeds from the jewelry and chili sale go to support the care of children and adults of all ages and abilities at St. Ann Center.
