Voyage toward new South Shore Cruise Dock to set sail tomorrow
Alderwoman Marina Dimitrijevic is thrilled that tomorrow – Thursday, September 4 at 10:30 a.m. ground will officially be broken as the city sets sail toward a new South Shore Cruise Dock at 2320 S. Lincoln Memorial Dr.
“I want to thank Port staff for their continued progress on this effort, as well as my colleagues on the Council who have continued to support funding this important project for our city. This investment was not easy to make, but I believed that if we built it, cruises would come and stimulate the local economy,” Alderwoman Dimitrijevic continued. “I look forward to the official groundbreaking for this project tomorrow, and I am absolutely thrilled that District 14 and the Bay View neighborhood will be the first place visitors from around the world will visit in Milwaukee.”
The South Shore Cruise Dock will be Milwaukee’s third designated cruise dock and will serve as the future port-of-call for Seawaymax vessels. Construction is anticipated to run through next summer with the new dock operational by mid-2026 cruising season.
