VISIT Milwaukee Wins $112,050 Grant for Mobile Visitor Kiosk
Kiosk will be used to showcase Milwaukee to visitors around region
MILWAUKEE — (Feb. 3, 2022) Governor Evers announced on Feb. 2 that VISIT Milwaukee will receive a $112,050 grant to create a mobile visitor kiosk. This mobile welcome center, which is intended for travel around the region and at local events, will be an immersive and interactive experience that will help visitors learn about all Milwaukee has to offer.
The kiosk will showcase Milwaukee information and experiences through a variety of media. Interactive screens will allow for immersive exploration, while printed materials like maps, visitors guides, Milwaukee-made swag, and more, will offer visitors something tangible and memorable to take with them. The mobile kiosk is designed to be lightweight and compact so that it can be easily towed by the company minivan.
Plans for the kiosk include a statewide road trip spearheaded by VISIT Milwaukee’s visitor experience team with activations in communities throughout the state later this year. Those communities will include a mix of destinations with varying degrees of visitation to Milwaukee. VISIT Milwaukee’s communications team will join in these road trips to take advantage of media opportunities to promote the city in those destinations.
The mobile kiosk will be manufactured by Guerilla Cube, which creates experiential tradeshow booths and kiosks.
Additional information and interview opportunities are available upon request.
