UWM online programs climb in U.S. News rankings
UWM’s online programs rose in the latest rankings by U.S. News & World Report. The 2023 report, released today, is based on evaluations of more than 1,800 bachelor’s and master’s programs.
UWM’s online bachelor’s programs were ranked No. 35 nationwide, up from 39 last year. The ranking was the highest for any university in Wisconsin. UWM Online offers 12 online bachelor’s degrees, including four in the UW Flexible Option competency-based delivery mode.
The online master’s in education program at UWM ranked No. 189, a rise of 10 spots from last year.
“The U.S. News rankings address the factors needed for a high-quality student experience in an online program,” said Laura Pedrick, executive director of UWM Online. “The ‘Best Online’ national rankings reflect the university’s long-standing commitment to serving non-traditional students through online programs that reach working adults. UWM’s rise in the rankings is due to the hard work and dedication of university faculty and staff and the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.”
The rankings consider numerous factors, including the amount of engagement between instructors and students; faculty credentials and training; and the services and technology provided for online students. The ratings also consider peer opinion, gathered from a survey of universities offering online programs.
