Tom Tiffany Wants Democrats to Talk About the Economy. Lets Talk About It
MADISON, Wis. — In an interview this week, Tom Tiffany said Democrats want to talk about the Epstein files instead of talking about an economy that he claims is thriving. Let’s look at the facts:
- Tiffany’s tariff taxes cost Wisconsin households $1000 last year.
- $1 trillion was wiped from the U.S. stock market in a single day, affecting working people’s retirement savings and 401(k)s.
- Trump signed an executive order last Friday to quadruple beef imports from Argentina, undercutting Wisconsin ranchers.
Tom Tiffany is making this affordability crisis worse by fully embracing the policies that led us here. Just this week, Tiffany voted twice to protect tariffs—including on one of our closest allies, Canada. In October, he remained silent as Wisconsin ranchers spoke out about Trump’s plan to import Argentinian beef while spending $40 billion in taxpayer dollars bailing out the Argentinian economy to secure the election for right-wing president Javier Milei.
“Tom Tiffany is telling Wisconsinites not to believe the affordability crisis that is forcing them to choose between paying for groceries and health care—all while he enjoys a taxpayer funded salary.” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Emily Stuckey. “If Tom Tiffany wants us to talk about his and Trump’s failing economy, we’re happy to.”NOTE: This press release was submitted to Urban Milwaukee and was not written by an Urban Milwaukee writer.
