Tips on AI, MVPs, state help, trade, marketing, investor strategy on tap for March 17 Tech Summit

MADISON, Wis. – In addition to “speed dates” with 16 major firms, representatives of emerging companies in Wisconsin will hear from experts on a mix of topics as part of the 12th annual Wisconsin Tech Summit, which will take place March 17 in-person at Milwaukee’s AmFam Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Tech Summit is built around series of brief meetings, or “speed dates,” to foster communication and partnership. It is produced by the Wisconsin Technology Council.

A series of “Office Hours” will run throughout the day to address topics of interest to emerging companies and entrepreneurs in Wisconsin. Topics in chronological order are:

AI in action: Practical approaches for small businesses to boost revenue
Host: Spencer X. Smith, AmpliPhi.

This session will explore the different uses of AI in business as well as success stories on how leveraging AI can generate revenue for your business.

The road to MVP traction: Building a strong ‘minimum viable product’ and navigating your market
Host: Ilya Avdeev, UW-Milwaukee Lubar Entrepreneurship Center.

Learn essentials of building an MVP that not only addresses core user needs but also sets the foundation for sustainable growth.

Fueling innovation in Wisconsin: Programs designed to help early-stage businesses succeed
Host: Joey Frayne, Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.

A veteran WEDC representative will provide an overview of key programs and resources available to innovative startups and emerging firms.

Tariffs, trade and technology: What Wisconsin companies should know
Hosts: Roxanne Baumann, Baumann Global; and Dennis Yen-Feng Lei, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago.

Learn from experts who will discuss the current global trade landscape and how evolving tariffs can affect supply chains, costs and market access.

Building your brand: Effective marketing and LinkedIn strategies for startup business growth
Hosts: Michelle Breen and Jenny Weeden, Accelity.

Experts will provide actionable marketing tactics that drive visibility, engagement and growth and share how you can leverage LinkedIn for lead generation.

Investor expectations and founder realities: Essential tips for startup success
Hosts: David Arnstein, Venture Investors Health Fund; Dana Guthrie, Gateway Capital Partners; and Adam Kadlec, Rivermark Medical.

Hear from a successful founder and two investment funds on topics you may not know to ask when preparing for a funding round to give you a leg up.

“Office Hour” sessions range from 30 to 60 minutes and are open to all attendees.

Other features of the event are:

  • An event overview and opening discussion to help set the stage for emerging companies by allowing major firms to talk generally about their goals, needs and emerging markets;
  • Many networking opportunities throughout the conference;
  • A keynote speech from Derek Hyde, vice president of IT for the Milwaukee Brewers, and;
  • A networking breakfast, lunch and closing reception in the X-Golf simulator.
