The Wehr Nature Center Is Bringing Back Reptile Day
FRANKLIN, WI – Milwaukee County Parks and The Wehr Nature Center will be hosting their annual Reptile Day on Sunday, June 7, from 2-4 p.m. The event will take place at the Wehr Nature Center, rain or shine!
This afternoon will give the whole family a chance to interact with a variety of different reptiles such as snakes, turtles, lizards, and salamanders. With dozens of fascinating species to see, this hands-on event is perfect for curious kids and grown-ups alike.
We will embark on a guided nature hike where along the trails we’ll search for reptiles, participate in reptile themed crafts, and food will be available to purchase with the proceeds going to Friends of Wehr.
This event aims to educate people about the cool ways to care for these scaly (and often misunderstood) creatures that share our world.
“This event offers a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to learn about and appreciate these incredible animals,” said Carly Hintz, Director of Wehr Nature Center. “Our goal is to help everyone understand how to live harmoniously with our often-misunderstood scaly neighbors. We hope you’ll join us for this fun and educational day!”
Day-of registration is available, but we strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance to skip the admission line. Tickets for this event are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, but again, the event will run rain or shine. All proceeds to this event support local conservation.
