WisDems Statement on Labor Day
MADISON, Wis. — In recognition of Labor Day, WisDems Chair Devin Remiker released the following statement:
“Working Wisconsinites are the backbone of our state, and organized labor is at the heart of the Democratic Party. Today, we celebrate and honor them, along with Wisconsin’s proud history of labor delivering victories for working people. While workers and Democratic elected officials have spent over a decade working tirelessly to undo the damage done by Scott Walker and Wisconsin Republicans, we now face an imminent threat in Congressman Tom Tiffany. Tom Tiffany not only gutted workers’ rights as a legislator, but also continued his anti-worker streak in Congress by voting against equal pay for women and for more child labor. Given the opportunity, Tom Tiffany will shred every last protection workers have in our state and in our nation.”
