The Salvation Army Continues to Respond to Flooding in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties
Urgent Need for Flood Kits to Support Families in Recovery
Milwaukee, WI – After the recent severe storms and flooding, The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) team continues to be on the ground in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties, standing alongside local emergency officials, first responders, and community partners. Together, they’re making sure neighbors have what they need – whether it’s a snack, clean water, or simply a listening ear and spiritual care.
“Our neighbors are hurting, and every flood kit represents relief, dignity, and hope for a family beginning the recovery process,” said Benny Benedict, The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services Director.
Right now, the need is urgent. The Salvation Army’s stock of flood kits – buckets filled with cleaning supplies to help families start the long road to recovery – is running low. At least 500-1,000 more kits are needed immediately. Each kit costs just $30 to put together and includes essentials like cleaner, scrub brushes, mops, brooms, trash bags, squeegee, gloves, and masks.
