The City of Glendale Announces their Summer Events for 2023

GLENDALE, Wisconsin (June 20, 2023) –The City of Glendale is pleased to announce their list of 2023 summer events. With over 15 free events from June to August, attendees will enjoy live music, parades, fireworks, and outdoor movies nights. The city will continue hosting their annual free music concert series, Music in the Glen, and their Fourth of July Celebration. In addition, the City of Glendale is introducing Movies in the Glen and an all-new concert series, Summer Rhythm Nights at the Glen. All events, except for Glendale’s Fourth of July Celebration, will be held at the Richard E. Maslowski Community Park at 2200 W. Bender Rd, Glendale. There will be concessions, treats, and Sprecher soda and beer available at the onsite Sprecher Outdoor Oasis. The community park also includes an accessibility playground, indoor restrooms, the Orthopedic Hospital of Wisconsin War Memorial, and the Johnson Controls Outdoor Amphitheatre.

MUSIC IN THE GLEN
What: Free outdoor summer music series
Where: Richard E. Maslowski Community Park (2200 W. Bender Rd, Glendale)
When: Wednesdays at 6:30pm, starting June 21, 2023 – August 2, 2023
Details: Food, snacks, beverages, and treats are available at the onsite Sprecher Outdoor Oasis. Blankets and lawn chairs recommended. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

What: Free, two-hour outdoor concerts

When: Select Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays starting June 16 – August 17, 2023
Details: Food, snacks, beverages, and treats are available at the onsite Sprecher Outdoor Oasis. Blankets and lawn chairs recommended.

What: Free Admission to the North Shore’s largest Independence Day Celebration
Where: Kletzsch Park – Glendale
When: Tuesday, July 4, 2023, from 10:00am-11:30am and 4:30pm-9:30pm

Timeline of Events:

  • Children’s Parade at 10:00am down Milwaukee River Parkway
  • Main Parade Extravaganza at 10:30am down Milwaukee River Parkway
  • Food Truck Festival 4:30pm to 9pm
  • Kids Activities including bouncy houses, dunk tank, face painting, and henna at 4:30pm
  • Shorewood School of Rock performs at 4:30pm-5:30pm
  • Summer Soak at 5:00pm
  • The Toys perform at 6pm to 9pm
  • Fireworks begin at dusk.

COUNTRY NIGHT featuring REBEL GRACE

What: Free outdoor concert featuring Rebel Grace
Where: Richard E. Maslowski Community Park (2200 W. Bender Road – Glendale)
When: Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 6:00pm-9:00pm
Details: Rebel Grace is making their way to Glendale. Food trucks will be onsite, and concessions available at the Sprecher Outdoor Oasis. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the Sprecher Outdoor Oasis and the Welcome to Glendale tent. There will also be fun games to play including bags and washers.

MOVIES IN THE GLEN
What: Free admission to the Saturday night outdoor summer movie nights
Where: Richard E. Maslowski Community Park (2200 W. Bender Road – Glendale)
When: Saturday, August 19 and Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 8:00pm
Details: Free popcorn for all attendees. Other food, snacks, beverages, and treats are available at the onsite Sprecher Outdoor Oasis. Blankets and lawn chairs recommended.

Movie Series Lineup:

  • August 19 (8pm) Top Gun: Maverick (PG-13)
  • August 26 (8pm) TBD (You Pick Night)

The public is asked to pick the second movie of the Movies in the Glen series. Options include Shazam 2, Fast and Furious 10, Creed 3, or Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The public can cast their vote here.
