Milwaukee County Supervisor Marina Dimitrijevic today invited the community to the grand opening of the renovated public concessions area of the South Shore Terrace at South Shore Park, 2900 South Shore Drive, at 3 p.m., Wednesday, August 19.

The renewed terrace was revived through a partnership with MillerCoors and the Milwaukee County Parks Department. The former changing rooms for the beach will include more public lakeside seating and fire pits. MillerCoors donated $500,000 to South Shore Park improvements and clean-up in 2014.

“This is part of a larger renewal of South Shore Park that had been years in the making,” Dimitrijevic said. “This project will bring more revenue to our parks system while attracting more people to our lakefront. The next step will be the reconstruction of our parking lot, which will improve the quality of water in our public beach. The South Shore renaissance is moving forward.”
