MILWAUKEE — District 9 Supervisor Patti Logsdon is extending her appreciation to Hales Corners residents and community members for their strong turnout at Monday’s public hearing, where many voiced concerns about the ongoing closure of the Hales Corners Pool. Closed since 2019 due to staffing challenges, the pool remains a focal point for the community, with Logsdon reiterating her support to see it reopened.

Supervisor Logsdon emphasized her alignment with the community’s commitment to this cause in the following statement:

“To everyone who came to speak at the hearing, thank you. I am deeply encouraged by the passion and resilience of Hales Corners residents who care so strongly about this cherished community resource. The Hales Corners Pool has always been a vibrant gathering space, and I stand with the community—it’s time to reopen this beloved spot. I have consistently advocated for solutions to the staffing shortages affecting our County pools. I’ve worked to encourage local youth to apply for lifeguard roles, which is essential to creating a safe environment across all of our aquatic facilities.

“Residents in Hales Corners pay the same taxes as those in other areas and deserve equitable access to public facilities like the Hales Corners Pool. With the dedication and support of the Hales Corners community, I am committed to doing whatever it takes to see this pool reopened. Our community’s passion is clear, and I urge the Parks Department to partner with us to bring this treasured resource back to life.”

Supervisor Logsdon consistently advocates for the reopening of the Hales Corners Pool, regularly raising the issue in County Board committees to maintain its priority status.
