Supervisor Burgelis to Host Neighborhood Walk with Local Elected Officials
MILWAUKEE – On Thursday, June 30 County Supervisors Peter Burgelis and Juan Miguel Martinez, County Executive David Crowley, Mayor Cavalier Johnson, Alderman Mark Borkowski, the Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee County Park Rangers will join neighbors for a neighborhood walk in the Jackson Park neighborhood.
“I’m honored to have so many partners participate in this neighborhood walk! Special thanks to Alderman Borkowski for coordinating and for the cooperation! I’m proud to show off our great, diverse southside neighborhood and Farmers’ Market to elected leaders and hope many neighbors join in the fun! Opportunities like this where neighbors can engage with elected officials lead to a healthier community both physically and mentally. Intentional conversations among neighbors lead to a healthier democracy,” said Supervisor Peter Burgelis. “My thanks go out to all of the elected officials who plan on participating, as well as the Jackson Park Community Association for their tireless work in putting together an amazing farmers market for our community week after week each year.”
The walk will start at El Rey Family Market parking lot (5100 W Oklahoma Ave, Milwaukee, WI), make a stop at Manitoba Park, and conclude at Jackson Park for the Thursday Farmers Market.
