Summerfest Unveils New Immersive Light and Sound Experience – Astral Relics of the Great North Woods
MILWAUKEE, WI (June 12, 2025) – Summerfest presented by American Family Insurance is excited to once again host an immersive light and sound experience during the festival’s three weekends – “Astral Relics of the Great North Woods”.
Visitors will explore a woodland dreamscape filled with giant, glowing forest spirits that join in a cosmic chorus of light and song. Inspired by the colors and textures of Wisconsin’s North Woods, “Astral Relics” invokes the wonder, beauty, and mystery of the untamed wilderness.
Developed by FuzzPop Workshop with support from Milwaukee World Festival, Inc., Bader Philanthropies, Herzfeld Foundation, Astor Street Foundation, Heil Family Foundation, Wilson Family Foundation, and Gleam at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, “Astral Relics” tells a larger story of ecological change, community, and the cosmos, while providing Summerfest attendees with a stunning visual experience.

- 30 feet tall
- 70-foot diameter
- 1,000 yards of custom designed fabric
- 1,048,576 musical creations to be activated by visitors
