Statement from Representative Anderson on the Arrest of Judge Dugan

MADISON, Wis – According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested by the FBI this morning and charged with two felonies. In response, Representative Anderson released the following statement:

“I just learned of the arrest of Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge Dugan by the FBI this morning. While I do not yet have all the facts, what I do know is that the judge was arrested at the courthouse and the FBI director bragged about it online. This is part of a pattern of behavior of this administration weaponizing law enforcement, bullying our courts, and threatening the very foundation of our democratic system. Regardless of the outcome of this case, its purpose is clearly to strong arm the judicial branch into complying with the whims of the executive. That isn’t democracy. That’s dictatorship.”
