Statement from Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett on Today’s Supreme Court Decision:
“Milwaukee election officials knew early on that information about voters moving was flawed, and a mass removal of legitimately registered voters would have been shamefully unfair.”
“I appreciate the Supreme Court’s conclusion that the authority and responsibility to maintain voter rolls belongs to local elections officials.”
“No matter how they are masked, voter suppression efforts are an affront to our democracy. I want every eligible voter to take part in our elections without unneeded barriers and hurdles.”
