State Rep. Dora Drake Appointed Vice-Chair on the Speaker’s Task Force Regarding Truancy

Madison- Today, State Rep. Dora Drake (D-11th Assembly District Milwaukee) announced her appointment as Vice-Chair on the Speaker’s Task Force regarding truancy in K-12 education.

“When we invest in our youth, their education, and families, our communities thrive because the children are well. With increasing trends of truancy, we need to identify the root causes and invest in effective interventions and resources to ensure student academic success within our K-12 education system.

I am looking forward to working alongside Chairwoman Amy Binsfeld (R-Sheboygan), members of the bipartisan committee and hearing from experts and Wisconsinites on this important issue. We have an opportunity to find effective solutions that will benefit every child in our state and I am hopeful our state legislature will move forward together.”
