MILWAUKEE—JoCasta Zamarripa today announced the endorsement of nine sitting Wisconsin state legislators in her race to be the next Alderwoman in Milwaukee’s 8th District. State Senators Tim Carpenter and LaTonya Johnson, along with State Representatives Jason Fields, Evan Goyke, David Crowley, Kalan Haywood II, LaKeshia Myers, Tod Ohnstad, and Christine Sinicki today endorsed JoCasta.

“JoCasta has a strong track record of being a fierce advocate for our community,” said State Senator Tim Carpenter. “As someone who has served with her for nearly a decade, I know JoCasta’s energy and drive will serve us well on the Common Council. I could not be happier to offer her my endorsement and support.”

“I’m humbled so many of my current colleagues have my back on this journey to serve Milwaukee on the Common Council,” said JoCasta. “Milwaukee residents deserve leaders who will fight to move our city forward in a positive, inclusive way. I’m ready to be that leader.”

State Rep. JoCasta Zamarripa announced last month she’s filed to run for 8th District Alderwoman in the City of Milwaukee in April of 2020. Zamarripa has represented the near south side of Milwaukee in the State Assembly for nine years. She was the first Latina woman elected to the state Legislature.
