Special Licenses Committee meeting to include revocation hearing for Third Ward nightclub

By - Jan 15th, 2021 01:06 pm

The Licenses Committee has scheduled a special meeting next week that will include three items – including a license revocation hearing for Site 1A, 231 E. Buffalo St.

The virtual meeting will start at 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 21st. For its first item, the committee will take up the revocation of the Class B Tavern and Public Entertainment Premises licenses of Aaron R. Ohlsson, agent for Copper Penguin Management Group, LLC, for Site 1A, which is located in the 4th Aldermanic District.

NOTE: The revocation hearing is atypical as the Office of the City Attorney will only call witnesses on the OCA’s designated list of potential witnesses. Anyone seeking more information on this hearing or any license issue should call the License Division at 414-286-2238 or via email at license@milwaukee.gov.

The other two items to be heard are: File #201217 – Communication from the Milwaukee Health Department and the Milwaukee Police Department relating to the enforcement of health department orders at licensed establishments; and File #201286 – Communication from the Milwaukee Police Department relating to its Code RED program.

All three agenda items are sponsored by committee chairwoman Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs.

The special meeting will be televised live on the City Channel (channel 25 on Spectrum Cable and channel 99 on AT&T U-Verse in the City of Milwaukee) and via streaming video on the city website at city.milwaukee.gov/Channel25.
