South Shore Farmers’ Market Turns 25!

MILWAUKEE, WI  Tomorrow, Saturday, July 29th, South Shore Farmers’ Market (SSFM) Committee celebrates 25 Years 8:00 a.m. – Noon at South Shore Park, 2900 S. Shore Dr., Milwaukee, WI. The Community Day Out features area nonprofit and agency resource tables, 8:00 a.m. – Noon, alongside SSFM’s food and agricultural vendors. Program and Mayoral Proclamation begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by music.

The 25th Anniversary celebration comes just ahead of National Farmers Market Week August 6-12, when SSFM joins markets across the nation in recognizing the essential role farmers markets play in providing fresh nutritious food, supporting local farmers, and creating a hub for community connection.

25th Anniversary & Community Day Out Event Schedule:

8:00 a.m. – Noon Nonprofit and agency resource tables: Aurora Heath Care Family Services, Bay View Community Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters, End Alzheimers Milwaukee, Fernwood Music Parents, Habitat For Humanity, Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services, Power to the People: MKE Democratic Socialists of America, Trowbridge School, U.S. Coast Guard, UWM-Center for 21st Century Studies

9:00 – 11:30 a.m.  Face Painting

Program:

9:30 – 9:45 a.m. Welcome Brigid Globensky, SSFM Committee Chair

9:45 – 9:50 a.m. Acknowledgements Mark Budnik, SSFM Music Chair

9:50 – 10:00 a.m. Mayoral Proclamation Municipal Port Director Jackie Carter, for Mayor Cavalier Johnson

10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Musical Guest Tis, The Band
