Snow Emergency Requiring Alternate Side Parking In Effect

The City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works has declared a Snow Emergency for December 30, 2020. There is no parking allowed on arterials from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and alternate side parking will be required on side streets from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Posted street signs take precedence. Please read the street signs for winter parking instructions BEFORE YOU PARK.

Arterials (No Parking) 

To confirm the arterials which do not allow any parking and for additional parking restriction information visit milwaukee.gov/Parking/ParkingRegulations.  Residents can also call (414) 286-CITY (-2489).

Side Streets (Alternate Side Parking)

All residents who park overnight on a Milwaukee side street must move their vehicles to the EVEN numbered side of the street by 10 p.m. on December 30 2020 through 6 a.m. on December 31, 2020. Parked vehicles should be flush to the curb and out of the flow of traffic. This includes the streetcar route and other city roadways.

Designated Milwaukee Public Schools lots will be available for off-street parking beginning December 30, 2020 at 7 p.m. All vehicles must be moved from MPS lots by 7 a.m. the following morning. For a list of school parking lot locations, go to milwaukee.gov/snowparking.

Garbage, Recycling

Garbage and recycling will be collected on December 31.  Garbage and recycling carts should be set out on collection day and left in place until serviced.  Reminder – collection days shift forward after each City holiday. Review your collection schedule here.

For all collections scheduled through January 2 residents should keep carts placed at the collection point until serviced. To ensure service, carts must have a clear path to them and must be free from ice and accumulation of snow so crews can access and move the carts.

Emergencia de nieve en efecto que requiere estacionarse en el lado alterno

El Departamento de Obras Públicas de la Ciudad de Milwaukee ha declarado una emergencia de nieve para 30 de diciembre 2020. No se permite estacionar en arterias de 10 p.m. a 6 a.m. y se deberá estacionarse en el lado alterno en las calles laterales de 10 p.m. a 6 a.m. Los letreros de las calles tienen prioridad.
