Sen. Dianne Hesselbein Condemns Ruling Against Workers’ Rights
MADISON – State Senator Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) today condemned a court decision in the effort to restore the right to collectively bargain for Wisconsin workers. In 2024, Circuit Court Judge Jacob Frost found that legislation (“Act 10”) stripping collective bargaining rights from most public employees was unconstitutional and effectively ordered those rights restored. Today, the Court of Appeals reversed Judge Frost’s decision.
“I was first elected to the state legislature the year after Act 10 passed. As a State Representative, a State Senator, and now as Senate Democratic Leader, I have remained committed to restoring collective bargaining rights for every hard-working public employee across our state.
“I am disappointed in the ruling by the Court of Appeals today, but the fight is not over. Legislative Democrats will continue to work hard to ensure that every worker is recognized and respected, no matter their occupation or zip code.”
