Seeds of Health Celebrates Grand Opening of Tenor High School’s New Innovation Lab
‘A Taste of Technology’ event marks advanced efforts to prepare the next generation for quality careers
MILWAUKEE – Seeds of Health will host “A Taste of Technology,” the grand opening celebration of Tenor High School’s new Innovation Lab at the Journal Square Campus (918 Vel R. Phillips Ave.) on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the Lab, learn from Tenor students and teachers, and build a few things of their own using the facility’s advanced equipment.
Seeds of Health purchased two former Journal Sentinel buildings at 918-922 Vel R. Phillips Ave. in 2021, with the first building opening to students in November 2021. The ground floor of the second building was renovated to create the Innovation Lab, completing the first phase of Seeds of Health’s strategy to provide more hands-on, career-focused educational opportunities for urban Milwaukee high schoolers. Future renovation of the three remaining floors will provide space to expand into additional pathways aligning with MATC career tracks, with preliminary plans including a biomedical science lab, a multimedia lab, a student-run coffee shop, and a life skills lab.
“A Taste of Technology” is open to the community. Visit https://seedsofhealth-bloom.kindful.com/e/innovation-lab-public-viewing?blm_aid=701441 to learn more and to register.
