Revised Letter to Wisconsin Center District CEO Marty Brooks
April 11, 2023
Mr. Marty Brooks
President and CEO
Wisconsin Center District
Dear Mr. Brooks,
We read with concern the news reports about the removal of your literary art installation as part of the Wisconsin Center’s renovation and expansion. If these reports are correct, this is a unique installation in celebration of the written word as art. What is more, again if the reports are correct, the decision to remove it was made without reference to either the Milwaukee Arts Board which supervised the original installation or your own Wisconsin Center District Board.
At a minimum, we would strongly urge you to delay the planned removal until a review by the Wisconsin Center District Board can be conducted.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Brostoff
