"Republicans seem hell bent on further deepening inequalities in America."
MADISON — The following is a statement from Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Martha Laning:
“Every single version of the GOP tax bill has been based on the same flawed logic that giving more to the ultra-rich will eventually manage to trickle down to everyone else. And every version of the GOP tax bill has also promised to drive our country further into debt in order to give the vast majority of its hand-outs to the wealthiest who need a tax break the least.
“Republicans seem hell bent on further deepening inequalities in America. The redistribution of wealth from the middle-class to the wealthiest is bad not only for lower-income families, but for our economy and nation as a whole.
“Worse still, our children and future generations will have to foot the bill so President Trump and his GOP allies in Congress can give themselves a bigger gift.”
