Rep. Ben DeSmidt Inaugurated into Wisconsin State Assembly

MADISON, WI – Representative Ben DeSmidt was officially inaugurated today as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly representing the 65th Assembly District.

Rep. DeSmidt is a lifelong Wisconsin resident with valuable experience in education, small business ownership, and community engagement. He taught Western Civilizations at Carthage College from 2005 to 2020 and now co-owns Union Park Tavern in Kenosha with his partner, Angie. Rep. DeSmidt will be serving on the Assembly Committee on Colleges and Universities and the Assembly Committee on Science, Technology, and AI.

Representative Ben DeSmidt (D-Kenosha) shared the following statement:

“I first want to thank the people of the 65th Assembly District for the privilege of representing them in the Wisconsin State Assembly. As a fourth generation elected official in the State of Wisconsin, public service has always been a part of my life. With my strong background in academia and a deep commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs, I look forward to offering new perspectives in the Wisconsin State Assembly.”
