Alderman Robert J. Bauman, chair of the Public Transportation, Utilities, and Waterways Review Board, has scheduled several items for the board’s next meeting that seek to advance the discussion around the future of public transit in Milwaukee. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 10 at 10 a.m. in room 301-B of City Hall, 200 E. Wells St.

The full agenda (available here) includes two items centered on the financial sustainability of the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS). The Wisconsin Policy Forum will discuss their report, “Detour Ahead – The Milwaukee County Transit System’s fiscal cliff and options to avert it.” Additionally, the City’s Environmental Collaboration Office will share an update on their Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Initiatives.

“Thriving cities need a variety of high quality, environmentally supportive public transit options. The regional fiscal situation has the potential to negatively impact public transit, and at Wednesday’s meeting we will discuss these relevant transit topics,” Alderman Bauman said.

The Public Transportation, Utilities, and Waterways Review Board meeting will be streamed live on the City Channel (channel 25 on Spectrum Cable and channel 99 on AT&T U-Verse in the City of Milwaukee) and via streaming video on the city website at city.milwaukee.gov/Channel25.
