Old 97’s to headline 9th Annual WMSE Backyard BBQ
All the fun takes place Saturday, Aug. 25 from Noon to 8 p.m.
Grab your cutoffs and a cold brew, ‘cause the headliners for this year’s WMSE Backyard BBQ are the Old 97’s—and you are in for one helluva good time. Hailing from Dallas, this alt-country group has headlined stages as big as Denver’s Red-Rocks to as small as Emo’s in Austin and now they will play for free at Humboldt Park in Bay View on Saturday, Aug. 25.
The band has blessed us with 25 years of incredible music and great shows. Milwaukee is one of their favorite places to play, and it’s always to a sellout crowd. The band has years of hits under their belt including the most recent Brandi Carlile duet, “Good With God,” to crowd favorites, “Question,” “Bird on A Wire” and so much more, making sure fans get the best show of their lives—because that’s what the Old 97’s do—they give it their all.
“We look forward to once again giving the best end-of-the-summer concert to our loyal listeners, because without you we cannot be the best radio station in Milwaukee. Getting the Old 97s to headline has been years in the making and we are so excited. We cannot thank them enough for playing this year’s Backyard BBQ,” declared WMSE GM, Tom Crawford.
All the fun takes place Saturday, Aug. 25 from Noon to 8 p.m. in the station’s even bigger backyard—Humboldt Park, right in the heart of Bay View at 3000 S. Howell Ave. It’s the station’s small thank-you to its listeners and members for their continued support.
