NFL’s Eric Murray, a Milwaukee Native, Selects Leaders Igniting Transformation for My Cause My Cleats Fundraiser

Milwaukee, WI — NFL veteran Eric Murray, defensive back for the Jacksonville Jaguars and a Milwaukee and Riverside University High School alum, has selected Leaders Igniting Transformation (LIT) as his featured nonprofit for the league’s annual My Cause My Cleats fundraiser. LIT is a Milwaukee based youth-led organization focused on education justice, civic engagement, and leadership development.

Each year, NFL players choose a cause that is personally meaningful to them and design custom cleats to wear during Week 13 to raise awareness and support. This year, Eric Murray chose LIT to uplift and invest in the future of Black and Brown young people across Wisconsin.

“I want to support LIT and their support for the future of Black and Brown youth,” Murray shared in his official statement on the NFL’s My Cause My Cleats platform.

Founded in 2017, LIT organizes high school, college, and community members across Wisconsin to build youth power, shift policy, and develop young leaders committed to creating more equitable schools and communities. Through civic engagement, leadership development, and organizing, LIT equips thousands of youth to become the next generation of changemakers.

LIT will celebrate the partnership throughout December with digital storytelling, youth features, and community engagement efforts highlighting the impact of youth-led organizing across the state.
