NEWaukee Launches AFTERLIGHT, a New One-Night Event Transforming the Milwaukee Riverwalk into an After-Dark Experience

Free inaugural event on August 21 celebrates Milwaukee's creative community through light, art, music, film, and interactive installations.

Milwaukee, Wisc. – On Friday, August 21, NEWaukee will debut AFTERLIGHT, a free, one-night arts experience on the Milwaukee Riverwalk. From 6:30 to 11:00 p.m., the Milwaukee Riverwalk between Erie Street and Wisconsin Avenue will host interactive installations, local artists, musicians, filmmakers, performers, and makers for visitors to explore.

Designed to celebrate Milwaukee’s creative energy, AFTERLIGHT invites attendees to wander and engage with experiences around every corner. There is no set path or schedule. Each guest creates their own journey through art installations, large-scale projections, and pop-up performances.

“AFTERLIGHT is an invitation to rediscover Milwaukee,” said Angela Damiani, CEO of NEWaukee. “Our city is filled with incredible artists, makers, musicians, and storytellers, and this event shines a light on that creativity while encouraging people to experience Downtown Milwaukee in an entirely new way. We hope people leave having discovered something unexpected about the city.”
