ilwaukee, WI — January 31, 2026: Bread of Healing Clinic will host a community convening to meet and welcome its new Executive Director, Erica Wright, BA, MS, while bringing together health care providers, advocates, funders, and policymakers for a timely conversation about the future of health care access for uninsured and underinsured residents in Milwaukee. As proposed Medicaid cuts and potential changes to the Affordable Care Act threaten access to coverage for thousands of Wisconsinites, the event offers an opportunity to both introduce new leadership at Bread of Healing Clinic and align community stakeholders working closest to the issue. The event will take place Thursday, Feb. 18, 2026, from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at ThriveOn King, located at 2153 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Milwaukee, WI. Designed as a meet-and-greet and community convening, the event will center the clinic’s leadership transition alongside broader discussion of access to care. During the event, attendees will enjoy a light snack while :

  • Meet Erica Wright, BA, MS, and hear her vision for Bread of Healing Clinic at a time of increasing demand for safety-net care
  • Learn how Bread of Healing Clinic has served as a trusted provider for more than 25 years, delivering free, volunteer-driven medical care to uninsured adults through its mission to “cover the uncovered”
  • Hear remarks from Kirsten Johnson, Secretary Designee for Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, on state health priorities and the role of community-based clinics
  • Engage with leaders and organizations working directly in the uninsured care space to strengthen coordination, collaboration, and shared advocacy efforts

“This moment calls for clarity, collaboration, and leadership,” said Wright. “As access to care becomes more uncertain, Bread of Healing Clinic remains committed to ensuring our neighbors are not left without options.”
