New Analysis Shows Federal Tax Reform Could Add Over 65,000 Jobs to Wisconsin’s Economy and Boost Wages by Nearly $2.5 Billion

Historic reforms will turbocharge Wisconsin’s economy, adding tens of thousands of jobs while cutting the tax burden for working families

MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin’s economy could see a big boost if Congress completes its work to overhaul the tax code for the first time in 30 years, according to a new analysis released today by the MacIver Institute.

John Dunham & Associates calculates that 65,318 jobs would be created in 2018 if tax reform is enacted. The same study shows that Wisconsin workers could see their wages increased by nearly $2.5 billion.

The study also showed significant tax reductions for Wisconsin taxpayers – especially those in middle to lower income households, who would see their taxes reduced by as much as 8.7 percent.

Dunham modeled the analysis off the House-passed version of the bill. A conference committee is working this week to produce a final version of the bill that is expected to be taken up for a final vote next week.

“Our IRS code is one of the most complex and costly tax systems in the world. We are well past due to make our tax code more competitive, fairer and less costly. This analysis shows that Wisconsin workers, small businesses and corporations all will be big winners if Congress finishes the job on tax reform,” said Brett Healy, president of the MacIver Institute.

“With all the work Governor Walker has done to reform the tax and business climate in Wisconsin, we are primed for an economic boom. If Congress can pass this tax cut and comprehensive reform of the tax code, it will launch the Wisconsin economy and have a real impact on the lives of all Wisconsinites,” Healy said.

“The bottom line is this: This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to dramatically reform the federal tax code. It’s the peoples’ money, let them keep it. They’ve earned it,” Healy said.

Reading this from the MacIver is exactly like reading Pravda, total lies, propaganda, distortions, or as my Russians friends refer to Pravda, бред сивой кобылы, or “bo͝olˌ$Hit”

  3. POSSIBLE NEWS FLASH: The MacIver Institute is so 100% confident of its prediction for the future, based on its analysis, which is based on its delusions and misstatements, that its leaders have made the following pledge: If these tax cuts for the rich and corporations do not create 65,000 jobs (in addition to Walker’s pledge, no double counting) and boost wages by $2.499 billion by by 2040, prorated to produce 25,000 jobs and $1 billion by 2020, the Macliver Institute will close its doors forever, its president will commit suicide by jumping from the capital dome as a public gesture of shame and remorse for misleading the masses, and the Institute’s elite board will collectively stand in the middle of i-94 and be run over by a semi in acceptance of their responsibility.

That is how confident, despite all historic experience, they are that these tax cuts, along with giveaways like Foxxcom, will unlock hidden wealth and unleash the economy, make recessions a thing of the past, and lift minorities out of poverty through the magic of the private sector. And because of this magic, while the tax cuts and tax giveaways will have reduced revenues to the vanishing point, it won’t matter because everyone will realize that MacIver was right, and there really is no need for government. At that point, the newly renamed Macliver/Nostradamus Institute will be recognized as the Harvard of the Midwest, the think tank of all think tanks, and Brett Healy will receive the Nobel Prize for Economics, finally receiving the recognition as the independent, un-bought, out of the box thinker that he has long been.

Frank, we’ll said. I thought the Maclver Institute was buried a long time ago. Does anyone really believe this stuff? I still believe dinosaur’s roam the planet in 2018.

  5. Dateline: December 15, 2022 (More Future Prediction) “LAKE COUNTRY TERROR” Roving bands of white senior citizens are spreading fear in Lake Country. As the State’s downward spiral has accelerated in the wake of the financial crisis and the federal response (deep domestic spending cuts), muggings, carjackings and holdups by old white people have created a climate of fear in Lake Country. Violent beatings with canes and smash and grab crimes by people riding Jazzys have become so common that the police and courts are overwhelmed. Inner city residents who moved to Lake Country for its safety and security are now fleeing back to safe Milwaukee.

One eighty something, who asked that his name not be used, said that his case was not unusual. He was awaiting trial for ramming his walker into a young woman coming from her pilates class and stealing her purse. He said that , based on a Fox News commercial, he had unwisely invested all of his privatized Social Security money (reform of 2018) in gold, which had tanked. His “Informed consumer” Medicare voucher (reform of 2018) wasn’t worth enough to pay for his medicines, and he had to sell his trailer home to become Medicaid eligible for nursing home care, but he was kicked out anyway.

He said, life in jail wasn’t that bad, “3 squares and a place to sleep,” better than many of his fellow octogenarians. He also said that, despite these disasters, he remained a staunch Republican because he had heard that minorities, Muslims and immigrants were getting all kinds of benefits that he and other deserving white people couldn’t get. He thought he heard it on Fox News or at one of the MacIver Institute seminars conducted in the jail’s ever growing senior citizen program.
