Southside Bar Eyes New Location
Dulce Diabla plans bar, dance club and sit-down dining for building in Muskego Way neighborhood.

After just over a year of operation in the Forest Home Hills neighborhood, Dulce Diabla Bar is planning a new southside location.
Owner Gilari Cortes Reyna recently applied for an occupancy permit at 1537 S. César E Chávez Dr., a commercial space currently home to Don Julio’s Bar & Club.
The existing business has operated for a decade at the location, most recently under Ruben Medina Perdomo. It has an active license that is set to expire in November, though city records indicate a transfer is pending.
According to the application, Cortes Reyna plans to transform the 1,295-square-foot tavern into a bar, dance club and sit-down restaurant, doing business as Dulce Diabla Bar.
She did not clarify whether it would be an expansion of the original Dulce Diabla at 1900 W. Lincoln Ave. or a relocation of that business.
Cortes Reyna first launched Dulce Diabla in April 2025, replacing Diamante Negro, which sought a different location better suited to food service.
In her initial proposal, Cortes Reyna cited prior experience working at bars in Mexico, saying she planned to leverage her service background to handle day-to-day operations at Dulce Diabla — Spanish for “Sweet Devil.”
She previously told Urban Milwaukee of intentions to curate a community-focused establishment, and today the bar offers regular events including karaoke, DJs and dancing.
The business also features a full bar program, including beer, liquor and mixed drinks, along with specialty cocktails such as cantaritos (a fruity tequila cocktail), micheladas and piña coladas. The current location is not licensed to serve food.
Dulce Diabla is open on Lincoln Avenue Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., Fridays from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Sundays from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., according to its Facebook page.
Proposed hours of operation for the César E. Chávez Drive location are Wednesdays through Mondays from 6 p.m. to bar close. The new business will require city approval before opening.
Maria de Jesus Ramirez Xolo, registered agent for Don Julio’s LLC, owns the César E. Chávez Drive building, according to city assessment records.
Cortes Reyna did not respond to a request for comment by the time of publication.
