MILWAUKEE, WI—February 3, 2025—Art in Bloom grows bigger than before at the Milwaukee Art Museum, April 3–6, 2025, filling the galleries with an abundance of flowers, springtime activations, and lively events. New this year to the Museum’s annual celebration of spring will be a Thursday evening wine tasting and a Saturday after-hours party, creating even more opportunities for visitors to revel in the season’s vibrancy.

“Every year, Art in Bloom fills the Museum with joy and color. I’m thrilled to expand this beloved four-day event by adding something new to each day and night, inviting even more visitors to experience Art in Bloom like they haven’t before,” said Scott Schwebel, Chief Experience Officer.

Now more bountiful, Art in Bloom expands to include a special activation each day of the event. Making its debut on Thursday, April 3, 6–8 p.m., Petals and Pours is an elegant wine tasting experience set in Windhover Hall. Sommeliers will lead presentations at 6:15 and 7:15 p.m., providing tasting notes and sharing information about the wine selection. The crowd-favorite Floral Fashion Show returns Friday, April 4, 7–10 p.m., with chic gowns and radiant accessories made with flowers designed by fashion and floral designers. Tiered tickets to this extraordinary after-hours event include complimentary champagne and hors d’oeuvres, among other perks. New to Art in Bloom on Saturday, April 5, 7–11 p.m., a party like no other—Bloom Bash! Visitors are encouraged to wear their best floral attire and dance the night away to music spun by DJ Kelly Aiglon. The campus-wide party will feature artful activations and delicious refreshments that evoke spring. Finally, bring the family on Sunday, April 6, 11 a.m.–3 p.m., to engage in all-ages fun with floral living statue Ginger Whimsy.

As always, lush and ornate floral arrangements return to the galleries! The region’s top florists create by hand and present novel arrangements interpreting works of art such as Le Père Jacques (The Wood Gatherer) (1881) by Jules Bastien-Lepage, Laid Table (Still Life with Metal Pitcher) (2007) by Beth Lipman, and Our Time Together (2021) by Derrick Adams. The arrangements will be assessed for Judges’ Awards, which will be announced on Thursday, April 3, 6 p.m., in Lubar Auditorium. Visitors can also vote for their favorites, and the Museum will share the People’s Choice Awards winners on the Art in Bloom web page.

“It’s always a wonderful surprise and delight to see how the florists interpret the Museum’s collection,” said Marcelle Polednik, PhD, Donna and Donald Baumgartner Director. “We’re excited to welcome our visitors and celebrate the spirit of creative collaboration!”

The four-day event also features a flourishing garden in Windhover Hall, live music, springtime goods in the Museum Store, and fresh bites and beverages in the Museum Café and Bloom Lounge. In the atrium of Windhover Hall suspends Meadow by DRIFT, an awe-inspiring installation of vibrant, kinetic flowers that creates an ever-changing display of “blooms.” There, visitors can delight in the atmosphere’s grandeur while sipping on a glass of wine from the wine bar.

Now through Monday, February 17, Members receive first access to tickets. In addition to $10 Art in Bloom tickets, Members enjoy specially priced tickets to Petals and Pours, Floral Fashion Show, and Bloom Bash. Members receive special perks throughout the four-day event, as well. Those who are not yet Members are encouraged to join to purchase their tickets early and receive the reduced rates. General admission tickets will be available to all February 18–April 6, 2025, or until they are sold out.
